The Court of Appeal in Abuja has dismissed a fresh suit by the 16 Plateau Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers previously sacked in November.
Despite their efforts to regain seats in the state House of Assembly, the appellate court affirmed its earlier decision.
The justices led by Joseph Olubunmi Oyewole JCA labeled the new suit as frivolous and lacking merit, imposing a fine of N8 million on each of the 16 applicants, totaling N128 million.
The Court of Appeal had initially removed the lawmakers, citing their party’s lack of structure, and declared the second-place candidates as winners.
The Speaker of the state assembly, Gabriel Daweng had refused to swear in the 16 APC and Labour Party members, awaiting court determination.
