A medical tribunal has accused a cosmetic doctor of British-Nigerian origin, Dr. Tijion Esho, of engaging in a sexual relationship with a ‘vulnerable’ patient at one of his clinics.
The medical tribunal said Dr. Esho, known as Dr exchanged explicit messages with the woman who is a sex worker, promising botox in exchange for sexual favors.
The woman identified as as Patient A for privacy reasons had sought Dr. Esho’s services after hearing about his ‘designer lip’ procedure.
The tribunal was also availed details of their interactions, including sexually explicit messages and an offer to exchange services.
The General Medical Council argued that Dr. Esho was simultaneously pursuing the patient’s services while treating her.
There were also sexually explicit messages discussing self-performed acts and fantasies with the patient.
The woman claimed the doctor recognized her vulnerability due to her job’s impact on appearance and mental health.
An appointment at the doctor’s clinic in Newcastle between the duo was said to have been arranged for privacy, leading to a sexual encounter.
Dr. Esho was said to have suggested providing Botox in exchange for sexual services.
Esho in his plea denied the charges, including inappropriate comments, physical contact, and allowing a sex act.
The woman complained to the GMC, asserting the doctor took advantage of her vulnerable position tied to her job’s emphasis on appearance.
Dr. Esho admits to four charges of inappropriate messaging between July 2019 and February 2022 and confesses to an improper emotional relationship between July 2019 and May 2022, acknowledging the sexual motivation behind his conduct.
The ongoing 15-day tribunal will address these allegations.
