Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, appeared as a witness in the ongoing trial of ex-Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, at an Abuja High Court. Mustapha revealed that his and former President Muhammadu Buhari’s signatures were forged in the withdrawal of $6.23 million from the CBN vault on February 8, 2023. He denied involvement in the correspondence and disavowed any receipts from the money.
He emphasized that the SGF’s office did not have the authority to request CBN funds for foreign election observers and that such responsibilities were solely under the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
