Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie Vows to Prioritize Capital Expenditure Also Move Edo state From Consumption To Production

In a recent interview on the popular TopTalk weekly interaction program on Kaftan TV, Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie, a gubernatorial aspirant under the National Rescue Movement (NRM), outlined his vision for a “good government” and sensible governance based on feedback from the public. Aikoriogie, an economist with expertise in economic planning, has made promising pledges to reduce recurrent expenditure and shift the focus towards more capital expenditure.

During the interview, Aikoriogie emphasized the urgent need to transition from a government that primarily focuses on consumption to one that prioritizes production. He argued that the current system suffers from excessive leakages and proposed a reduction in current expenditure to allow for increased investments in critical sectors such as education, health, and infrastructure, through capital expenditure.

“As an economist, I know what it is to draw a scale of preference according to the needs of the people,” Aikoriogie confidently stated. His commitment to prioritizing the needs of the public showcases his willingness to address the pressing issues that affect the people.

Aikoriogie further stressed the importance of actively listening to the concerns of the people and ensuring that their needs are met. He aims to establish a government that is responsive and accountable to the public in order to foster a sense of trust and confidence in the governance system.

His platform focuses on rectifying the inefficiencies and shortcomings of the current government system. Aikoriogie’s approach aims to drive economic growth and development through targeted investments and strategic planning. By reducing recurrent expenditure and increasing capital expenditure, he hopes to create a solid foundation for sustainable development in various sectors of the economy.

As the gubernatorial race gains momentum, Aikoriogie’s promises of a “good government” and sensible governance based on public feedback are likely to strike a chord with voters who are seeking a fresh and innovative approach to governance in the region. With his background and expertise in economic planning, Aikoriogie is positioned to bring about positive change in the region, addressing the needs and concerns of the people.
