The former Yobe State Governor Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim is dead.
Senator Abba who died at the age of 75 was the first elected governor of Yobe State from January 1992 to November 1993 in the aborted Third Republic.
He was also the governor of Yobe State from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007.
Apparently, news of his death was contained on the social platform of Gujba Emirate Council. It was also confirmed by a source from the Emirate.
“He died in the Medina Hospital after an illness.”
According to Hobnob News reports,he was elected to the Senate to represent Yobe East in 2017. He ran for re-election in the 2011 Senatorial contest for Yobe East on the ANPP platform, and won until 2015 when he quit the Senate seat for Ibrahim Gaidam, also a former governor of Yobe State.
