A 37-year old security guard identified as Nuradeen Shehu has taken his own life.
Shehu who works at Prestige International College, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, Nuradeen Shehu, reportedly committed suicide after finding out his ex-wife remarried.
The Kano State Police Commissioner, Hussaini Gumel, while confirming the incident told newsmen on Tuesday that the incident happened inside one of the classrooms of the college.
Gumel said on January 28 at about 10:30 am, one Abdullahi Abdulsalam of Rijiyar Zaki, brought a report that Nuradeen Shehu, a security guard at the college, was found dead after he hanged himself with rope in a classroom.
The Kano CP said the DPO led a team of Policemen from GwaleDivision to the scene and forcefully unlocked the door, cut the rope and rushed the body to Murtala Mohammed General Hospital where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.
The body of Shehu has now been released to his family for burial.
Gumel informed newsmen that the police would thoroughly investigate the incident.
