The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Bright Edafe has advised Nigerians not to get into trouble with the slogan ‘No Gree For Anybody’.
Edafe in a statement on his X handle also said slapping someone back and he dies will not be treated as self-defence but manslaughter.
He further noted that the culprit will spend a reasonable amount of time in prison even if he or she did not intend to kill the initial aggressor.
In his words:
“If someone slaps you, and you retaliates, he falls and dies. It won’t be treated as self-defense rather it will treated as unintentional murder ( manslaughter) which all depends on the result of the autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. But one thing I am sure of is that the suspect will be behind bars for a reasonable time.”
On the popular 2024 slogan, he said:
“So I repeat, be careful of the slogan “no gree for anybody” we are telling you this because we love you and we are truly your friend.”
