In a shocking incident, the police in Adamawa State have arrested a sexagenarian, Mahmudu Adamu, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl in the Ganye Local Government Area of the state. The suspect, Adamu, has also confessed to inserting his fingers into the private parts of three minors at different times in the same locality.
Confirming the arrest, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated that Mahmudu Adamu was apprehended in Yola on Wednesday. The suspect did not deny the allegations and openly admitted to engaging in these acts to seek sexual satisfaction, blaming the devil for his immoral behavior.
According to Yahaya, the accused was captured by the police following a report lodged by the parents of the third victim. The concerned parents promptly came forward to report the incident, prompting the law enforcement agencies to take swift action.
Expressing his strong stance against such heinous crimes, Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, has ordered the immediate prosecution of the suspect after the completion of the investigation. This highlights the commitment of the police force in Adamawa State to ensure justice is served and the safety of minors is prioritized.
