A lecturer with Zamfara State College of Education, Maru (COE) Nasiru Mohammed Anka, has been killed by suspected bandits even after they collected a ransom of N2 million.
The lecturer according to reports was abducted together with other residents three weeks ago in Maru town, Maru Local Government Area of the state.
A woman who reportedly escaped weeks from the bandits’ camp after being in captivity told TVC News that the lecturer was killed in her presence.
According to the woman, she summoned courage and escaped from the bandits den when they were all drunk and fell asleep.
She revealed that the bandit tried to remove some of his sensitive body parts two days after killing the lecturer, but the corpse was already decomposed so they decided to leave it.
“After several blows on his head with guns and other punishment, he couldn’t survive it so he died,” the woman said.
“The bandits keep telling him that his people have money if they love him they should bring the money or they kill him, and that was how they killed him after collecting the two million Naira that they claimed was not enough or up to their target,” she added.
