In a dramatic turn of events, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has been thrown into further turmoil as the party executives issued a vote of no confidence in their Chairman, Babayo Misau. Rabi’u Garba, the APC Legal Adviser, made this revelation during a press briefing held at the Next Level Secretariat of the party after an emergency meeting.
Garba highlighted that 27 out of the 37 party executives unanimously decided to withdraw their support for Misau due to his failure in fulfilling his responsibilities as the state chairman. This incompetence has resulted in significant losses for the party, especially in the last general election, including the governorship contest.
“Following the executive committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress this morning, November 30, 2023, and having resolved and reflected on the issues and crisis bedeviling our party, particularly, what we are facing immediately after the elections up to the general elections to today, we have witnessed a lot of negativities happening within the party,” Garba explained.
This vote of no confidence further deepens the internal discord within the party, which has been plagued by internal wrangling and power struggles. It remains to be seen how this development will affect the future of the APC in Bauchi State and whether the party can reconcile its differences to effectively challenge their opponents in future elections.
