Organised Labour, the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria has announced an indefinite strike starting 14th November, 2023.
The Labour union directed its members to starting from midnight, Tuesday 14, November, commence a nationwide strike over the assault on NLC President, Joe Ajaero.
Ajaero was reportedly beaten in the build up to the Imo governorship polls. He had accused the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma of sending thugs to beat him up.
The Organised Labour had directed all affiliate of the two labour centres to implement the resolutions of the joint National Executive Council of TUC and NLC.
TUC President, Festus Osifo, while addressing reporters on Monday, said the strike would remain until “governments at all levels wake up to their responsibility.”
