The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye has been sacked by the Oyo State High Court, Ogbomoso Judicial Division over the selection process that led to his ascension to the throne.
The court in its rulung upturned Ghandi Olaoye’s appointment as King and ordered a fresh selection process.
It would be recalled that the Oyo State Government announced the RCCG Pastor as Soun of Ogbomoso and subsequently crowned him King in September 2023.
But prior to the appointment, another contender for the throne, Prince Muhammed Kabir Olaoye, had sued Ghandi, Governor Seyi Makinde and Attorney-General of Oyo State, barring them from crowning any one as King pending the final determination of the suit.
The court has now given a restraining order barring Pastor Afolabi Ghandi Oladunni Olaoye from parading, representing or presenting himself as the candidate for any ceremony.
The court also restrained the Oyo State Government from presenting any instruments of office to the former RCCG Pastor.
