Veteran Nigerian singer, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, more known as Blackface, has accused YBNL CEO, Olamide and label signee, Asake, of intellectual theft.
Blackface while speaking in the latest episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, accused Olamide in particular of hijacking many songs in his career.
“Olamide and Asake steal songs. Olamide has stolen many songs in his career. He jacked ‘Don’t Stop’ from me my song ‘Killa’.”
Blackface also took a swipe at Wizkid and Burna Boy for allegedly stealing their collaborative hit song ‘Ginger’ from him, noting that ‘Ginger’ was inspired by his song ‘Twist & Turn.’
The former Plantashun Boiz member said other artists not only stole his lyrics but also jacked the sounds he created.
He particularly noted that when he wanted to use the beat of P-Square’s ‘Do Me’ for his song ‘Erima’, he took permission from the producer, Joe.
Blackface, said he’s open to writing songs for Nigerian artists, especially Davido, if properly approached.
He revealed that he has been trying to collaborate with Tiwa Savage for years, but she hasn’t responded to him.
