The Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa has denied admitting she’s currently serving as an NYSC member while holding sway as Minister.
She has in recent weeks become a subject of controversy after it was alleged that she is currently having her National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) mandatory 1-year service in Abuja, FCT.
A statement purportedly emanated from her admitting she’s currently serving, averring that she has not broken any rule.
The Minister through Suleiman Haruna, Deputy Director, Press at the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation denied the statement credited to her, noting that she hasn’t made a statement on her NYSC status.
The statement reads:
“The attention of Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, Hon. Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, has been drawn to a recently circulating piece titled: MY PERSONAL STATEMENT ON MY NYSC STATUS AS A SERVING MINISTER.
“The piece is inaccurately associated with her in relation to the current NYSC discussion.
“The Hon. Minister clarifies that she has not released any official statement regarding the aforementioned matter and kindly asks the public to be cautious of unverified information.
“I deeply value and appreciate the support, solidarity, and understanding of Nigerians in these times. For clarity, I wish to state that I have not issued any statement on the current issue.”
