Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, has vowed that his ministry will not have to tell lies to defend the government of President Tinubu but would rather “always say it as it is.”
The newly sworn in Minister while speaking upon assumption of office after his inauguration, said the ministry and the government will be transparent and truthful while giving out information.
Idris averred that the government would own up where it errs or make any mistake, then adjust where necessary.
He promised that National Orientation would be a core aspect of the government, noting that “in a matter of days we would roll out our plans to Nigerians.”
The information Minister used the opportunity to advise Nigerians on the need to shun fake news and always clarify issues before taking it out to the public.
He promised that the ministry would be accountable and open to nigerians.
Idris and 44 other Ministers were today inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu.
