The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has reserved judgment in the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Presiding Justice of the court, Justice Haruna Tsamani announced this after lawyers to parties adopted their final written addresses and made last submissions.
Justice Tsamani said judgment in the petition is reserved till a date to be communicated to parties.
Lawyer to the petitioner, Chris Uche (SAN), prayed the court to allow the petition and grant his clients’ prayers.
Lawyers to the respondents – Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for President Bola Tinubu and Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) – prayed the court to dismiss the petition for lacking in merit.
Mahmoud, Olanipekun and Fagbemi argued that the petitioners failed to prove their case with relevant evidence.
Parties in the petition by Peter Obi and the Labour Party (LP) are to adopt their final addresses by 2pm today.
