According the Deputy Public Relations Officer of Gombe State Command ASP Sharif Saad, the arrest was sequel to a case of theft of two cattle which was reported at Gona divisional headquarters.

In the process, a locally made pistol with two live cartridges was also recovered as exhibits. The investigation is ongoing to catch the fleeing suspects.”
While expressing the command’s commitment in securing the state, he lauded the usual cooperation received from members of the public, “Command wishes to reiterate the resolve and commitment of its officers and men to the public in responding to cases of urgent attention while appreciating the support and cooperation from the good people of the State.
