Lawan commissions projects, seeks support for Abuja senator

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has commissioned projects including roads, bridges, health care centres, multipurpose town halls, classrooms, boreholes, and streetlights, among other developmental initiatives facilitated by the outgoing Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Philip Aduda.

During the commissioning of the projects, which took place at different communities in Abuja Municipal Area Council and Bwari Area Council on Thursday, Lawan, who was represented by the Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Danjuma La’ah, said Aduda, who lost his bid to return to the Red Chamber during the last election, deserved to be returned based on his responsive representation to the people of his senatorial district.

He said, “As loudly heard here from various speakers, and clearly seen projects facilitated into various communities across the six area councils, as the FCT senator, I urge your constituents to reward you with more and more returns into the Senate for the continuation of responsive representation you have been given them.

“Your constituents have said it loud and clear that they want you back into the Senate and the projects facilitated and executed for them have spoken for you.”

Impressed by the projects and Aduda’s commitment to serving the people of his district, House of Representative member, Abuja Municipal Area Council/Bwari Federal Constituency, Micah Jiba, and the Executive Chairman, AMAC, Zaka Maikalangu, in separate remarks, assured him of the continued support of the people.

Also, at the commissioning of a multi-purpose town hall in Bwari Area Council, the Chairman of the Council, John Gabaya, said aside from the boreholes sunk in various wards in the council, Aduda, within the last four years, executed over 15 developmental projects comprising of asphalt laid roads with drainages, streetlights, primary health care centres, among others.

In his remark, Aduda said he facilitated the projects to give back to the people of FCT for reposing confidence in him to serve them from 2003 till date.

He, however, clarified that projects including roads, boreholes, streetlights, bridges, health care centres, and classroom construction, among others, were for the development of the beneficial communities, adding that the multipurpose town halls like the ones constructed in Karu and Bwari towns were for revenue generation to the beneficial area councils.
