Chelsea’s interim manager, Frank Lampard, has said he will take a break after his short-term deal with the club expires.
The former Chelsea player, who was sacked in his first coaching stint at Stamford Bridge, was recalled on a temporary basis after Graham Potter was fired from the role.
However, the Blues struggled under the ex-England midfielder and finished in 12th place, closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League places.
“I’ll have a break, it has been quite intense. I wasn’t in that mode, I had to get in the mode.
“I’ve given it my all; we’ll see what happens,” Lampard, who was sacked at Everton earlier in the season, said.
Chelsea finished the campaign with 44 points, their lowest tally since 1987-88 when they were relegated.
