
Supporters of former Kano State Governor, , under the umbrella of the , have stated that the (NDC) zoned its presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria in the spirit of national unity and the belief in one Nigeria.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Habeeb Saleh, made the assertion on Monday during an interview on Television, where he addressed questions on the party’s zoning arrangement and its broader political implications.
Saleh explained that the decision by the NDC to shift its presidential slot to the South was not driven by division, but rather by a deliberate effort to promote inclusiveness, fairness, and national cohesion across the country’s geopolitical zones.
He further maintained that the Kwankwasiyya Movement supports any arrangement that strengthens unity and ensures equitable political participation among Nigerians, stressing that zoning remains a key mechanism for balancing interests in a diverse nation.
The remarks come amid ongoing political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections, where zoning arrangements by major parties continue to generate national debate.
