Kwankwaso Honoured in United Kingdom with Human Capital Development Excellence Award

His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE, has been conferred with the prestigious Human Capital Development Excellence Award by the Nigerian Association Tyne and Wear (NATW), Newcastle, United Kingdom, in recognition of his enduring contributions to human capital development, public service reform, and youth empowerment.

The award ceremony, which drew members of the Nigerian diaspora community, academics, and civic leaders in the United Kingdom, celebrated individuals whose leadership and developmental initiatives have made measurable impact on society, particularly in advancing education, skills acquisition, and human capital growth.

Senator Kwankwaso, a prominent Nigerian politician and former Governor of Kano State, was ably represented at the event by Dr. Muhammad Hamisu, Coordinator of the Kwankwasiyya Diaspora, who received the award on his behalf. The representation underscored the Senator’s continued engagement with global diaspora networks and his sustained influence beyond Nigeria’s borders.

The recognition was described by the organisers as a “well-deserved honour” reflecting a legacy of visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to people-centered governance, and consistent investment in education and youth development initiatives. According to NATW, the award seeks to highlight leaders whose policies have directly contributed to strengthening human capacity and improving socio-economic outcomes in their communities.

The Nigerian Association Tyne and Wear (NATW), Newcastle, United Kingdom, noted that Senator Kwankwaso’s developmental philosophy—often associated with education expansion, scholarship programmes, and youth empowerment schemes—has continued to inspire both domestic and international audiences. His approach to governance, they added, aligns with global best practices in human capital investment and sustainable development.

Dr. Muhammad Hamisu, while receiving the award on behalf of the Senator, expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition and reaffirmed Kwankwaso’s commitment to advancing educational opportunities and human capital development, particularly among young Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

The Kwankwasiyya Diaspora movement, which has maintained strong engagement with supporters abroad, was also acknowledged during the event for its role in promoting civic participation and community development initiatives linked to Senator Kwankwaso’s political philosophy.

The honour adds to the growing list of national and international recognitions conferred on Senator Kwankwaso over the years, further reinforcing his profile as a key advocate of education-driven development and people-focused governance in Nigeria.

The event concluded with renewed calls for stronger collaboration between diaspora organisations and Nigerian policymakers in addressing challenges related to education, skills development, and youth unemployment across the country.
