Delegates from several African nations are preparing to converge on Abuja as the Federal Capital Territory readies itself for one of the continent’s most anticipated celebrations of beauty, culture, and empowerment. Miss Africa International 2025 will take place on December 6 at the Center Point Event Center, and the organisers say this edition is designed to place African heritage and purposeful storytelling at the forefront.
According to the founder, Dr Anita May Igoni, the pageant stands as a platform that honours the intelligence, elegance, and confidence of African women while presenting the richness of the continent to the world. She explained that the vision behind the project has always been to elevate young women who combine beauty with intellect and use their voices to advocate for education, entrepreneurship, and social progress.
This year’s gathering will feature creative fashion showcases, cultural performances, and humanitarian projects linked to each contestant’s chosen cause. Dr Igoni stressed that the event focuses on character, culture, and meaningful contribution, adding that past winners have demonstrated the positive impact that influence can create when used with intention.
More than 30 countries are expected to be represented, each bringing a mix of languages, traditions, and personal stories that capture Africa’s extraordinary diversity. Dr Igoni noted that despite economic challenges, the team remains committed, sustained by sponsors and inspired by the achievements of past queens who have become agents of change across many sectors.
Abuja’s selection as host city was described as a deliberate decision. The organisers emphasised the city’s growing reputation as a focal point for major cultural and entertainment events, supported by its central location and expanding hospitality industry.
The influx of delegates, partners, and international guests is expected to provide a notable boost for hotels, designers, entertainers, and other creative businesses across Abuja. As preparations intensify, anticipation is rising for an evening that will blend high energy, cultural expression, and contemporary African fashion in a showcase that celebrates the continent’s evolving identity.
