The Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning as veteran actor, Ibrahim Chatta, announced the painful loss of his son.
The 54-year-old actor broke the news on his Instagram page on Saturday, sharing a heartfelt tribute alongside a photo of the late boy.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ,” Chatta wrote.
Since the announcement, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers have flooded his comment section with messages of sympathy and prayers.
The tragedy comes just days after another Nollywood star, Peju Ogunmola, lost her only son, Ayomikun, in Ibadan. The double blow has left the film community in shock and deep sorrow.
This is not the first time Chatta has experienced such a loss. In June, he recounted the heartbreaking story of losing his first child, a daughter, years ago due to financial hardship and lack of proper medical care. He revealed that he had to bury her in an old Coca-Cola crate after being unable to afford a coffin.
The Nollywood fraternity continues to rally around Chatta during this difficult time, offering prayers and support as he grieves his son.
