The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a significant upward review in the cost of obtaining the Nigerian Standard Passport, effective September 1, 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday and signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, the agency disclosed that the new charges will apply exclusively to applications processed within Nigeria.
With the adjustment, applicants will now pay N100,000 for the 32-page passport booklet and N200,000 for the 64-page booklet.
The NIS explained that the review became necessary to meet rising operational costs and to enhance service delivery across passport offices nationwide.
The statement added that all applications made before the effective date would continue to attract the old fees.
