The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has called on Christians to take full advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The association urged Christians across the region to ensure they are registered ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that voter participation is a civic responsibility and a crucial tool for shaping the nation’s democratic future.
CAN noted that timely registration would help avoid last-minute rushes and prevent eligible voters from being disenfranchised. The body further emphasized that active participation in the electoral process remains vital in ensuring that the voice of Christians and all Nigerians is adequately represented in governance.
The CVR exercise, currently ongoing nationwide, provides opportunities for fresh registrations, replacement of lost or damaged voter cards, and transfer of voting locations.
