The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Samuel Eze, for being in possession of a fresh human breast in the Awada area of Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
The arrest was made on Saturday, July 6, at about 3:30 p.m. by a Joint Security Team comprising police officers and operatives of the Anambra State Vigilante Service, who were on a routine patrol along Jude Onyekwere Street in Awada.
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Awka on Sunday while reviewing the command’s weekly activities.
“The Joint Security Team patrolling Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada, Obosi, arrested 25-year-old Samuel Eze in possession of a fresh female breast,” Ikenga said.
He noted that the recovered body part had been deposited at a morgue, while the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation to aid ongoing investigations.
Ikenga added that further details regarding the origin of the body part and possible accomplices would be revealed as investigations progress.
The incident has sparked shock and concern among residents, with many calling on security agencies to intensify surveillance in the area and ensure that justice is served.
The police have assured the public of their commitment to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the disturbing discovery and bringing all involved to book.
