The Presidency has dismissed reports claiming that Senator George Akume has been replaced as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), labeling the information as false and misleading.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that there has been no change in Akume’s status and that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.
“The information circulating about Akume’s replacement is untrue. Agents of mischief fabricated it,” the statement read.
The Presidency urged Nigerians to disregard the fake news and remain vigilant against disinformation aimed at causing unnecessary confusion.
