Nigerian Government Assures Citizens: “Your Suffering Will Soon Be Over”

The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that the current economic and social hardships facing the country are temporary and will soon be over.

This assurance was given by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a live interview on Channels Television on Wednesday.

Speaking on the state of the nation and efforts by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address pressing challenges, the Minister acknowledged the pain being felt by citizens but urged patience and optimism.

“We understand that Nigerians are going through difficult times, and the government is not blind to their suffering,” Idris stated. “However, we are working tirelessly to implement reforms that will yield lasting improvements. The suffering will soon be over.”

According to the Minister, the Tinubu-led administration has put in place a number of economic and social intervention programs aimed at stabilizing the economy, reducing inflation, and improving living conditions for the average Nigerian.

He highlighted initiatives such as investments in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and job creation as part of the government’s strategy to stimulate growth and reduce poverty.

Idris also noted that the removal of fuel subsidy and other fiscal reforms, while painful in the short term, are necessary for building a sustainable economic future.

“We are laying the foundation for a stronger Nigeria. These reforms are difficult, yes, but they are essential. And Nigerians will begin to feel the positive effects soon,” he added.

The Minister appealed for continued support and trust in the administration, promising transparency and consistent communication with the public as the government works toward economic recovery.

The assurance comes amid rising inflation, currency devaluation, and growing public frustration over the cost of living, insecurity, and unemployment.

As Nigerians await visible changes, all eyes remain on the government to translate its promises into tangible relief for millions struggling across the country.
