Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has refuted claims that he consulted a native doctor ahead of the November 8 governorship election. The controversy stems from a viral video suggesting he sought spiritual insight into his reelection prospects.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, described the allegations as “entirely false” and “maliciously fabricated.” The video in question, he clarified, was recorded during an interactive session with local content creators at the Government House.
According to Aburime, the supposed ritual scene was a comedy skit performed by one of the creators to showcase talent—not an actual consultation with a traditional soothsayer. He condemned those spreading the clip as politically motivated mischief-makers determined to mislead the public.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to Anambra’s creative economy, citing initiatives like the newly commissioned Solution Fun City as evidence of his support for local talent.
Soludo’s administration urged citizens to fact-check before sharing misleading content and reiterated that his focus remains on delivering the Solution Agenda for Anambra State’s growth and development.
