Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, have dismantled a syndicate involved in child trafficking and organ harvesting.
The group allegedly abducted several children from Ondo State and sold them to accomplices in Anambra State. Amotekun began tracking the syndicate following the abduction of a young boy named Eriponmile in Akure, the state capital.
The child was eventually located at a hospital in the South-East, where he had already undergone medical tests and was declared fit for organ harvesting. Several suspects were arrested at the scene.
Commander of Ondo Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye, who paraded the suspects, described the rescue as swift and effective. “We got a distress call from the Ijoka Davog area about the abduction of Eriponmile. Our operatives immediately launched an operation, and within 48 hours, our intelligence revealed that the boy was no longer in the state.”
He added, “We deployed undercover operatives and, by God’s grace, tracked Eriponmile to a hospital in the East. There, he was about to be harvested by one Amaka, believed to be a key figure in the trade.”
The arrested suspects are Amaka Ngozi Ifeanyi, Adaeze Kenneth Etose, and Omolara. Two other members of the syndicate are still on the run.
Eriseun Omolewo, father of the rescued child, expressed gratitude to Amotekun for their swift intervention.
