2027 Is a Done Deal for Tinubu – Sunday Dare Claps Back at Baba-Ahmed’s “Illogical Predictions”

Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has fired back at Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, over his recent remarks suggesting that Tinubu should not seek re-election in 2027.

Speaking during an Arise Television interview on Friday, Baba-Ahmed said Nigerians would demand “true democracy” by the next election cycle and urged President Tinubu to bow out. But in a strongly worded response posted on Saturday via his official X handle, Dare labeled Baba-Ahmed’s analysis as “baseless, flawed, and utterly illogical.”

“Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s illogical logic was all over the place in that interview,” Dare said. “His arguments lacked substance and coherence, almost as if he dropped from space.”

Dare compared Baba-Ahmed’s political outlook to empty predictions from self-styled prophets, arguing that he, along with his former running mate Peter Obi, form a “double whammy” in Nigeria’s political scene. “Their projections hold no water, and their logic is unfit for even a first-year political science classroom,” he mocked.

He also accused Baba-Ahmed of deliberately ignoring the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly in economic reform and governance. According to Dare, the Tinubu-led government has made bold, necessary decisions that are already yielding tangible results, supported by endorsements from institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“Baba-Ahmed avoided discussing performance and capacity because he knows Tinubu’s record is speaking for itself,” Dare added. “These so-called presidential hopefuls rely on armchair theories and fantasies, but come 2027, it won’t be enough.”

With confidence, Dare asserted that President Tinubu is poised for a strong return in the 2027 elections. “It will take more than political guesswork and noise to defeat Tinubu. He has shown unmatched capacity to lead and transform Nigeria,” he declared.

In closing, Dare offered a sharp piece of advice to Baba-Ahmed: “If he’s smart, he’ll stay quiet and leave politics to those who truly understand its complexities.”
