APGA Urges President Tinubu to Grant Amnesty to Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB Members

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on President Bola Tinubu to grant amnesty to the leaders and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), including Nnamdi Kanu. This appeal was made by Comrade Onyebuchi Chukwu, the National Youth Leader of APGA, in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

Comrade Chukwu emphasized that the quest for Biafra is a result of the marginalization and gross disregard of the Igbo people in Nigeria. He noted that the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State Of Biafra (MASSOB) gave birth to IPOB, all in the quest for justice for the Igbo people.

Chukwu suggested that granting amnesty to IPOB members, as was done for former militants in the Niger Delta, would calm nerves and deter further emergence of another IPOB leader. He urged President Tinubu to apply a political solution to the issue, rather than relying on incarceration or court proceedings.

The APGA National Youth Leader emphasized that this move would not only bring peace to the South East but also score political points for President Tinubu. He concluded by expressing his hope that the President would consider his advice and take the necessary steps to address the long-standing issue.
