The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has initiated the remodeling of the mechanical workshop at the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Urban Development. This development, announced by Commissioner Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime Orya, aims to enhance the ministry’s capacity to maintain government vehicles while introducing cleaner, cost-saving energy solutions .
The upgrade includes the addition of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station, aligning with Governor Alia’s commitment to environmental sustainability. This move demonstrates the administration’s focus on innovative solutions for energy efficiency and reduced emissions.
Since taking office on May 29, 2023, Governor Alia has prioritized strategic governance, emphasizing security, education, job creation, ICT, agriculture, and food security ¹. His leadership aims to foster unity, promote economic growth, and ensure the well-being of Benue State citizens.
Benue State Government has also launched initiatives in agriculture, infrastructure development, and human capital development. The state government has commenced work on designing a comprehensive infrastructure development program, involving unemployed graduate youths.
