BENUE PDP OFFICIALS LEFT STRANDED AS SECRETARIAT REMAINS LOCKED

Members of the newly inaugurated State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State were denied access to the party’s secretariat on Friday. The team, led by State Chairman Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, had arrived at the secretariat located on No. 1 Ochagu Lawani Street, Makurdi, to receive handover notes from the outgoing Caretaker State Working Committee.

However, upon arrival, they found the secretariat locked, hindering their plans to commence administrative exercises ahead of the local government elections scheduled for the next day in Benue State. Chairman Adaji made futile attempts to contact relevant individuals to understand the reason behind the lockout.

In a surprising twist, Adaji eventually managed to reach the Caretaker Secretary via phone, only to be informed that the secretary’s team was also unaware of the situation, citing received information about the secretariat being locked as the reason for their absence.

Adaji has vowed to consult with key stakeholders to determine the next course of action. The sudden lockout has raised concerns about potential disruptions to the upcoming elections and the party’s internal dynamics.
