In a significant development in Rivers State politics, Uzodinma Nwafor of the Action Alliance (AA) has been declared the winner of the chairmanship election held on October 5 in Etche Local Government Area. The announcement was made by the Rivers State Independent National Electoral Commission (RSIEC) in Port Harcourt, with RSIEC Chairman Adolphus Enebeli confirming Nwafor’s victory.
The Action Alliance also secured all 19 councillorship seats in the local government, demonstrating a strong showing for the party in the region. This outcome is notable, especially considering the All Progressives Party (APP) secured 22 out of 23 chairmanship seats in Rivers State.
