Protesters Storm Presidential Villa, National Assembly Over Kano Emirates’ Dissolution, Call’s For Tinubu’s Intervention

A group of protesters under the aegis of Northern Nigeria Peace and Development Foundation stormed the Presidential Villa and the National Assembly in Abuja, calling on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the Kano emirates’ crisis.

The protesters, carrying placards, expressed concerns over the escalating situation in Kano State following the dissolution of five emirates by Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration. They accused the governor of abusing his office and manipulating the traditional institution for political gain.

The protesters urged President Tinubu to find a lasting solution to the crisis and ensure peace returns to Kano State. The coordinator of the protest, Abdullahi Muhammed Saleh, criticized Governor Yusuf’s actions, stating that he has taken “abuse of office to another level” and eroded the autonomy of the Kano State House of Assembly.
