Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has urged Governor Hycienth Alia of Benue State to be magnanimous in victory and be a father for all in the state, just as he advised him to strengthen the security network, promote peace, unity, and the welfare of all citizens.
In a congratulatory message to the governor over his triumph at the Supreme Court, Senator Mark said that his election victory was a testament to the trust and confidence that the citizens have in his ability to lead and govern effectively.
In a statement on Sunday in Abuja by his Special Adviser, Media, Paul Mumeh, the former President of the Senate said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, Deputy Governor Sam Odey, and your team on the recent election victory and the successful resolution of the court case.

Governor Hycienth Alia was presented with his certificate of return on Saturday, after the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emmanuel Jime. The court ruled that the APC candidate failed to prove allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the election.
The victory at the Supreme Court affirms Governor Alia’s position as the duly elected governor of Benue State and lays to rest any lingering doubts about the legitimacy of his administration.
As the governor begins his second term in office, it is expected that he will fulfill his promise to prioritize security, peace, unity, and the welfare of all citizens. With the support and guidance of leaders like Senator David Mark, it is hoped that Benue State can continue to thrive and progress under the governor’s leadership.
