The Hajj Commission has issued a strong public warning over the activities of fraudulent travel agents and fake social media accounts allegedly claiming to facilitate the procurement of Hajj visas, despite the official closure of visa issuance by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Commission cautioned intending pilgrims and the general public to disregard any individual or platform offering Hajj visa services at this time, describing such claims as deceptive and criminal.
According to the Commission, Saudi authorities officially closed the Hajj visa issuance process on 1st Shawwal 1447 AH, corresponding to March 20, 2026, marking the end of all legitimate applications for the current pilgrimage cycle.
The Commission emphasized that any agent or organization still advertising visa procurement is operating illegally and should be reported to the appropriate authorities. It further urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to scams that could result in financial loss.
Reiterating its commitment to safeguarding pilgrims, the Commission advised prospective applicants to always verify information through official channels and accredited operators for future Hajj exercises.
