Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has alleged that the Federal Government is making efforts to prevent him from emerging as the presidential candidate of any political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi made the claim during a 60-minute interview on Magic FM Aba, monitored by Hobnob News.
Speaking during the programme, the former Anambra State governor expressed concerns over what he described as deliberate attempts to limit his political prospects, particularly as discussions around the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum.
He did not provide specific details of the alleged actions but maintained that there were ongoing efforts aimed at frustrating his chances of securing a party ticket.
Obi, who was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, has remained a prominent voice in national discourse, frequently commenting on governance, the economy, and electoral reforms.
The remarks are expected to stir debate across political circles, with supporters and critics likely to weigh in on the claims and their implications for Nigeria’s democratic process.
As of the time of filing this report, the Federal Government had not issued an official response to the allegations raised by Peter Obi.
