A Nigerian man and his Thai wife have been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking operation in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit district.
Police identified the suspects as Ukwe Vincent Chisom, 33, and Ms. Kesini, 30, who were apprehended at their condominium on Sri Nakarin Road, Samrong Nuea, Samut Prakan province, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
The arrests followed a Metropolitan Police probe into the couple’s narcotics dealings in Sukhumvit. Officers from the Child and Women Welfare Division placed the suspects under surveillance before raiding their residence.
During the operation, police seized 99 grams of cocaine, three mobile phones, and other incriminating evidence, along with assets worth more than 700,000 baht ($21,660) linked to drug activities.
Both suspects admitted to illegally crossing into Thailand through natural border routes in Nong Khai province. Investigators said they bought drugs in Sukhumvit and sold them in the Sri Nakarin district, with Ms. Kesini renting the apartment and managing bank accounts used for money transfers.
Authorities charged the pair with jointly trafficking cocaine by possession with intent to distribute, an offence classified as a commercial activity harmful to the public.
Chisom faces additional charges for illegally entering and residing in Thailand without authorization. The couple has been handed over to Samrong Nuea Police Station for further legal action.
