The Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Benue State Chapter, Hon. Orwough Maurice, has unveiled a strategic partnership with the Simba Group of Companies to drive youth empowerment initiatives across the state.
The announcement was made at the recently concluded National Executive Council (NEC) Conference in Abuja, where Hon. Orwough reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development and the critical role of young people in building a sustainable future for Benue.
Speaking on the sidelines of the conference, Hon. Orwough said, “Our youths are the most valuable asset we have. Through this partnership, we are opening new doors of opportunity for them to thrive. We will ensure every local government under my leadership aligns with this empowerment drive.”

The Simba Group—a renowned conglomerate with interests in technology, energy, transportation, and skills development—expressed its readiness to collaborate with Benue ALGON on a series of youth-focused projects. These initiatives will include vocational training, digital innovation, entrepreneurship development, and capacity-building programs aimed at creating jobs and boosting local economies.
Hon. Orwough emphasized that the partnership marks a significant milestone in his administration’s broader agenda to make local government a key driver of socio-economic transformation.

“Our goal is to deepen youth participation in governance and economic development. The future of Benue lies in the innovation, resilience, and energy of our young people,” he stated.
The partnership has been widely welcomed as a progressive move, with thousands of youths expected to benefit from the forthcoming programs. Discussions with the Simba Group are ongoing, and the rollout of practical empowerment initiatives is anticipated in the coming weeks.
