This new leadership marks a significant transition following the end of Mele Kyari’s tenure as Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL. The appointments, which took effect from April 2, 2025, aim to inject fresh expertise and strategic oversight into the national oil company.
The newly constituted board includes:
Adedapo Segun
Bello Rabiu (North West)
Yusuf Usman (North East)
Babs Omotowa, former MD of Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG), representing the North Central
Austin Avuru, Non-Executive Director (South-South)
David Ige, Non-Executive Director (South-West)
Henry Obih, Non-Executive Director (South-East)
Additional members include Mrs. Lydia Jafiya, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, representing the ministry on the board, and Aminu Ahmed, representing the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
President Tinubu’s latest appointments signal a renewed focus on transparency, efficiency, and performance within the NNPCL, as the government continues efforts to reposition the oil industry for sustainable growth and economic stability.
